چکیده

Micro-friction stir spot welding (µFSSW) is one type of that suitable for joining lightweight materials. One the challenges in materials with µFSSW material easily perforated, or join not strong enough, so it necessary to select right parameters. In this article discusses about investigates micro-Friction Stir Spot Welding parameters on weld geometry, mechanical properties, and metallography dissimilar AZ31B AA1100. The thickness AA100 0.5 mm 0.32 mm, respectively. tool made high-speed steel (HSS) a pin diameter 0.25 shoulder mm. constant process joint used, i. e., plunge depth, dwell time rate, high rotational speed 33,000 rpm. test results include metallography. Weld geometry testing determine nugget diameter. properties was shear tensile cross test, while metallographic included macrostructure microstructure observations. FSSW show at 700 milliseconds depth 600 microns, are close used. Dwell has significant effect strength. maximum loads achieved were 387±17 N 29±2 N, Intermetallic compounds (IMC) observed interface two materials, give cracks inside

Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar AA2024-AA6061 joints

In the present study, to resolve the problems in fusion welding methods as well as to increase the strength, FSW method was used to join aluminum alloy sheets 6061 and 2024. Moreover, optimal parameters for joining of these two alloys were also taken into consideration. Various tool rotation speeds of 565, 950 and 1500 rpm were selected. For each tool rotation speed, two traverse speed variable...

Studying the Possibility to Weld AA1100 Aluminum Alloy by Friction Stir Spot Welding

Abstract—Friction stir welding is a modern and an environmentally friendly solid state joining process used to joint relatively lighter family of materials. Recently, friction stir spot welding has been used instead of resistance spot welding which has received considerable attention from the automotive industry. It is environmentally friendly process that eliminated heat and pollution. In this...

Effect of Heat Input on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in Friction Stir Welding of HSLA-60

High-strength low alloy steels are a class of steels used in applications that require high strength and good weldability, including ship hulls, gas pipelines and oil industry. One way to build parts is fusion welding that create areas with a large grain size in the heat-affected zone and increased susceptibility to hydrogen cracking. One way to solve this problem is to use solid state friction...
